I’m Giving Pregnancy….

Update: Apparently my blog posts are giving some people the wrong idea. We are very excited to be expecting our first child. I use this blog as a means to write down how I feel and not to offend other people. I just wanted to make sure you understand that we wanted this baby. I just need to get out how I am truly feeling. And when I said I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel I just meant that it seems like forever until we get to meet our baby. Not that I'm not excited.

I can't promise to tone down my posts, but I can promise to be honest about how I'm really feeling. If my posts offend you then I am truly sorry because that is not my intention.

Original Post:
4 Thumbs Down! (I’m including my husband’s thumbs considering he’s all suicidal)
Now I hate to be a complainer and b*tch about things, but let’s face it: I am. I need to go ahead and let you know now that I’m knocked up this blog will be full of TMI and things you’d probably rather not know. But hey I want to remember this {wonderful} experience. :)
Now if you are one of the strange ones that loved/s being pregnant, stay tuned, my mood just might change. (But I doubt it)
Things I currently hate about pregnancy:
- I see no light at the end of the tunnel – I have til March to grow this little tadpole
- The next person to ask me what I’m going to do with my dogs is going to get punched in the face. What do you think I’m going to do? Get rid of them? I think not!
- I have never been so tired in my life.
- My husband likes to remind me that the slight bump everyone feels the need to rub is just a fat roll - Not really the baby.
- I need sushi in my life.
- My husband now thinks we are poor. It’s unfortunate.
- We don’t agree on anything. Diapering, names, furniture – these are the most argued.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am so excited that we are having a baby (and I think JP is too – I’ll double check though) I just feel like crap, hate taking those damn vitamins, and I have serious doubts that my “Motherly Instinct” is going to show up in time for me to raise this kid. No need to call DHR – we will figure this out. Or ask one of you to come live with us!
Thanks for all the sweet comments! I love y’all!

I had a hard time reading your post, honestly. I don't usually comment if I disagree with something, but I wanted to say something. Take it or leave it. I really hated being pregnant myself, I threw up multiple times a day for 25 weeks. I had terrible heartburn and was in hard labor for 48 hours. I delivered a 9 pound 3 oz baby. Not the most fun I've ever had.

My sister, however, is struggling with infertility. She finally got pregnant, and then just last week lost her baby boy at 24 weeks. She had to be induced and was in labor for almost 24 hours. All they want is a baby.

It's hard to read a whiny post like this, if you didn't want a baby you shouldn't have gotten pregnant. If you don't think a lovely, sweet child of your own is not enough "light at the end of the tunnel" then I'm not sure what is. It's your blog and you'll obviously write however you want, but it is disheartening for someone like me to read this.

LOL I am with you on that dog comment. I STILL get asked about my dogs constantly like I would kick them out or something! Craziness!

THe dog thing will be fine-everyone asked me that too-they actually love Emma. And I loved being pregnant. :D My bestie LG (above) just had a baby on July 28th and HATED being pregnant! :D

I hear ya! I change my mind weekly about whether or not I like being pregnant. Although I think my husband has gone a little easier on me than yours.. maybe your husband needs a taste of some hysterical pregnancy hormones before he mentions a fat roll again ;-)

My advice is don't worry too much about making major decisions just yet, as you have said you have lots of time. I have changed my mind about everything! Diapers/ car seat, etc because I keep reading more and more reviews.

Hang in there! There will be good days and bad days the best time for me was the end of the second trimester and a few weeks into the third. Who knew!!

Are you serious??? This is a blog. A place where you are supposed to go and write how you truly feel. You are hilarious. Anyone who knows you and JP know that you are both going to be WONDERFUL parents and that your little tadpole will grow up in a most loving home. Anyone whose ever been preggers knows the ups and downs of those 9 long months.
For anyone who doesnt like this blog or how you feel or what you write.... DONT READ IT
Love you Brittany!

Found you through Little Woman. I am 37 weeks pregnant today and could have written some of these things in my first trimester. My husband said that he doesn't think we'll have another baby (this is number 2) because he can't put up with my whining again. So trust me, I hear ya. Love your blog.

Hey!

After seeing you featured on Little Woman, I am now a follower!

I love your blog for many reasons... I love your honesty and sense of humor. My husband and I love our pets more than most people love their kids, so I totally get the animal thing! I can't even watch the SPCA commercials. I love the shirts you got for your dogs when you found out you are pregnant! We're have about another year to way, but my dog will SO be wearing one! I even showed them to my husband, and he loved it. Like I said, we're about a year or so off, but if one more person tries to convince me that I need to get rid of my dog before that time, I'm going to punch them in the face. My husband is really sick of it too. Our animals are our babies {1 dog, 1 cat}, and they aren't going ANYWHERE. PERIOD. THE END. :)

I look forward to reading more!!!

Don't let Erica's comment get to you. Everyone experiences pregnancy differently and if you're having a hard time with it, let it out. I did. Just about every other blogging momma I know did as well. It's good and healthy so you're not carrying all that stress around. I see why Erica might be offended by that and it is so tragic that her family and sister had to go through something like that, but it does not mean that anyone going through pregnancy, no matter how hard it was to get there, should keep quite about how they truly feel. Keep it real girl. New follower thanks to Lil Woman.
