Brain Dump

  • Is it weird that I cringe when I see my friends, neighbors, baby daddy, or strangers throw away something that can be recycled?! I can’t help it!

  • I’m thinking of waxing my stomach. I swear it looks like a mans – happy trail and all! It seems like the farther along I am, the darker the hair.

  • I am so completely stressed about finishing the nursery. I swear I’m going to go into labor before everything is ready.

  • Thanks to fabulous friends and family, we have 2 showers this weekend. I’m pumped. However, I have nothing cute to wear and that pisses me off.

  • I’m trying to enjoy my last 6 weeks or so as a family of 2 + 4 furchildren. I’m trying to spend extra snuggle time with the pups. The cats really don’t like me.

 33weeks 33belly

How Far Along: 33 weeks

Total Weight Gained: 13.5 lbs – added another pound.

Best Moment of the Week: Almost finishing the nursery! All our furniture is assembled and after hours of rearranging I’ve finally found a set up I love! All we need is a crib mattress and I have to finish revamping her closet!

Food Cravings: We bought this Saturday. There may be 5 pieces left!

Food Aversions: Eggs.

Belly button/stretch marks: The bb popped and please note that the bottom of my belly button is disgusting!

No stretch marks yet. I feel lucky and I’m hoping I can make it without any!

Symptoms: The larger I get the harder it is for me to pee in that little tiny cup they give you at the doctor. It’s very likely that I pee on my hand every time! Don’t worry I’m an excessive hand washer!

I feel like I just ran a marathon after everything I do. If I have to stand up or walk for more than 3 minutes I turn into a hot mess!

John Paul’s pregnancy symptoms: Deadline for the nursery is Friday. Let’s see if Bert lives another week!

Movement: This is insane! I can see body parts poking out all the time. She moves like crazy and it’s starting to hurt some.

Gender: Girl – Turner McCartney

Milestones: Another week down!

I had my appointment yesterday. They’ll start checking me next time and then I’ll go every week. I got the ok from my fabulous doctor to schedule an induction if I make it to 39 weeks! Woo Hoo!!

I asked about the “crooked line” on my belly. He seems to think I’m neurotic and said the line might go away. Eventually. I would hate to have to resort to skin bleaching!

If I’m induced at 39 weeks that means we only have 6 weeks left people! I think we can make it!

Thanks for all the suggestions on must have baby items. I’m going back to Tar-jay tomorrow to add a few more things and I think we’ll be set!!

To Save a Life

Okay….first off sorry for the overly dramatic post title. I’m fresh outta ideas today!

I started my morning off by getting up early (read: on time) with every intention of making it to work early (also read: on time) because I had a doctor’s appointment and a lunch function today and I wanted to at least pretend like I was doing some work. I actually left with enough time to make it to work right on time so of course there was a distraction.

I’m not sure how many of you actually know this but I am known at times to be a crazy animal activist and I may or may not try to get every stray animal I see on the streets. I might also let you know what I think of your dog/cat/bird/reptile, etc. parenting skills. I mean some people are just not meant to parent!

*this may be me in a few years

Anydog, I was driving to work when I see this dog in the middle of the road. All the other drivers were stopping and swerving around the dog. I hope you don’t expect me to say that I did the same.

I immediately pulled off to the side of the road and called the dog who came running. Thank god! This was obviously someone’s dog because he was wearing 2 collars but neither had a tag. I called the hubs. *This was a big mistake. HUGE! He yelled at me for pulling off the road to save some random dog. Umm…..hello? Not sure how long we’ve known each other but this is not a rare occasion. Maybe he thought since I was 28 months pregnant I would stop doing this?

I tried and tried to get the dog, a super sweet pitbull by the way, to get into my car. No clue what I would have done with the dog had he gotten in my car. I was tempted to take him to the vet and have him neutered since he obviously was not. Bert told me to stop being stupid and drive away. He also refused to come and help me load up someone else’s dog. WTH?

Well I tried to drive off and the dog ran after my car. I panicked – shocker – and pulled back off the road. He still refused to get in my car so I just sat there and watched him. He ran down in to a neighborhood and I left. I called my mom who immediately assured me that he went home - (She’s super psycho dog woman like me) -  and I felt a little better.

I’m sad that I couldn’t save the dog but I’m hopeful that he went home and his lovely owners will keep a better eye on him. I’d hate to have to track them down and tell them how to properly care for their dog!

Please tell me you do this too! Someone. Anyone?!

It’s that time again! Time for me to mention inappropriate things like oozing nipples and post it for all the world to see. You’re welcome Daddy!

How Far Along: 32 weeks

Total Weight Gained: 12.5 lbs

Maternity Clothes: I still try to wear my pre-pregnancy t-shirts at home. They no longer cover my belly. I miss normal clothes!

Sleep: Sleep has been pretty rough. I could really use a nap everyday.

Best Moment of the Week: Surviving all my meltdowns and not killing Bert.

Food Cravings: I’m still eating pop tarts like crazy. Lemon-Berry slush from Sonic. I’ve had one everyday!

Food Aversions: Eggs.

Belly button/stretch marks: No stretch marks that I can see. The belly button should pop soon – and who wants to see the bottom of their belly button?!? Gross!!

Oh and this linea nigra line thing I have going on is not straight. WTH? I’m too neurotic to have a crooked “straight line” running down my belly!!

Symptoms: Its hard to breathe. And my back hurts. Also my joints hurt. WTH? Does pregnancy turn you in to an old person?

I’m still having some nipple oozage and I can no longer see my vag.

John Paul’s pregnancy symptoms: The Hubs is pretty bad about wanting to put things off. I’ve set a deadline for the completion of the nursery. Let’s see if he makes it.

Movement: Movement is starting to get weird. I will see a big lump on one side like she’s trying to escape. A foot or hand or elbow or something will poke out! It’s like there’s a little alien in there trying to escape!

Gender: Girl – Turner McCartney

What I miss: Ummm breathing. And having normal skin and hair. I miss the days where I didn’t look like death.

Milestones: 8 weeks left people! I think I might survive. Maybe.

Pregnancy Meltdowns

So we all now how magical pregnancy is! Along with all the other awesome symptoms comes the pregnancy hormones. I went from screaming slightly raising my voice, to crying all the damn time. Granted, the crying has help me get a few more things done around the house. (However, John Paul is now immune to my meltdowns and crying no longer gets me my way. It’s quite unfortunate)
Long gone are the days of throwing bread and screaming at my husband until I’m over my tantrum. Bring on the tears!

I cried a couple weeks ago because Bert wouldn’t help me put up the bed in the room we just finished. I REALLY wanted that bed up before I went to sleep. And before you ask, ummm no it could not wait till the next day. And yes it might have been after 10. I cried. I mean all out sobbed! *I was also crying because I broke my steam mop that I had used ONE time – Berty swapped it out for me! After this meltdown we put the bed up and all was right with the world!

Last week Berty got called in to work early and when he left I had the mother of all meltdowns. I had to call my mommy just to regain my composure – ummm and regulate my breathing because it’s really hard to cry and breathe when you’re pregnant! The fact that he works nights 7 days in a row has never bothered me until now. I feel like he’s never home and we never see each other. I’m not gonna lie, it bothers me now that he spends more time with the people he works with than with me. Don’t get me wrong, I love the girls he works with but they get to see him 8 or 12 hours a night. I see him for 4, maybe 5 hours on the week nights he’s off.

I think I was crying because I know it will be harder when the baby gets here. I feel bad and we still haven’t talked about it because he has to work and it’s not his fault. I used to embrace our time apart but now I’m scared I’m going to be all alone with TM and I will ruin her forever!

I also meltdown when I can’t decide what to eat. Or we have to go somewhere. Or there’s no more orange juice. The fact that my hair is all weird now. My face is splotchy. I watch 16 and pregnant and freak because the baby has to come out of my vag.

Ahh pregnancy! Happy Monday friends!!

31crop 31wks
*yes that’s my vacuum cleaner in the background – I clean so often that I never put it up…….:)
How Far Along: 31 weeks
Total Weight Gained: 12.5 lbs – gained another pound this week
Maternity Clothes: I got a new pair of maternity jeans and I am super excited! Now I have 2 pair of pants for my pictures!
Sleep: Not sleeping past 4 anymore. Now when I wake up I’m starving!
Best Moment of the Week: We got the crib and changing table put together this weekend! Pictures to come!
Food Cravings: Pop-tarts – I bought pop-tarts to survive the ice/snow storm of 2011 and I ate an entire box. Before the ice came.
Food Aversions: Eggs.
Belly button/stretch marks: Still feeling lucky with no stretch marks! Only a little belly button left to pop!
Symptoms: I can’t breathe. I hurt. I haven’t had any swelling yet so that’s good. Umm…I have stuff oozing from my nipples. You’re welcome!
John Paul’s pregnancy symptoms:  I have an entire post planned about my meltdowns. These are usually unintentionally caused by John Paul. He’s sick this week so I can’t hate on him too much.
Movement: I swear she does gymnastics in there. I feel her move all the time.
Gender: Girl – Turner McCartney
What I miss: Feeling normal – sorry I’m not one of those women who loves being preggers.
Milestones: 9 weeks left! I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! I’ve picked the perfect day to be induced if TM hasn’t made her entrance before then….I just need to convince my doctor…

Thank you so much for your sweet thoughts for Maggie! She’s go back to the doctor tomorrow.

Maggie May

Princess Maggie has injured herself yet again. She seems to be very accident prone and has spent many a night at the vet. She was playing outside with her daddy the other night. He let her in and I noticed blood all over the floor. I freaked out – of course – and opened the door to go get John Paul and she ran back out.

Thank god Bert’s cousin was here, she worked for a vet for a while, and they took control. I was a hot mess and it’s very likely we would have made a trip to the emergency vet had Jenn not been there! I may have called 911! Mags cut her back left foot on something, probably a piece of glass. and Bert said he could see tendon. They bandaged her foot and we headed to bed. (I slept at the foot of the bed so Maggie could sleep by her daddy – we have to sacrifice for our babies, right?!)

Mags went to the vet the next morning and we waited for the doc to call. She tore her flexor tendon so it was off to surgery to try and repair the tendon. A few hours later the doc called and said her tendon was shredded and they were unable to repair it. They stitched up the cut and we would have to wait and see how her leg would heal.

I was super sad and completely worried that she would not be able to run again. Berty picked her up from the vet and now it’s a waiting game. Her cut will heal and we will see how she can maneuver without her flexor tendon. I am super dramatic and I cried when she came home walking on 3 legs. :(

*she had to cuddle up with daddy after surgery

So if you’re a vet, your husband’s a vet, you slept with a vet, or you googled it, I would love any info on what to expect as her leg heals. I hate waiting! I think she will be fine but I wonder if she’ll always limp or run weird. Who knows!

Baby Shower Registry

Okay people it’s very clear that I have no flippin’ clue what TM’s gonna need once she gets here. Other than a crib to sleep in and a boob to {hopefully} feed from, I’m lost!
Bert and I headed out to Tar-jay last night to register for my upcoming showers. We left the house with good intentions and the promise to not argue once we stepped inside the store.
John Paul’s biggest concern was that everything I wanted was pink. {Let me take a moment to say that the baby section was seriously lacking at our Tar-jay. I feel like we didn’t register for anything we need.} I just can’t resist all the cute pink stuff in the store!
We argued over types of bottles, pacis, clothes, toys, what color sheets to register for, the type of diapers to use…I should have been better prepared!
This is where you come in my lovely bloggy friends! Tell me what I need – the things I can’t live without.
I plan to go back and add to the list in a week or so!
Happy Friday!!

30week 30wk
Please forgive the horrendous-ness that is my face in these pictures. I have had no sleep!
How Far Along: 30 weeks
Total Weight Gained: 11.5 lbs
Maternity Clothes: I’m going to buy more leggings today. The hubs is concerned that I wear the same black pair every single day. And can I please mention that I cannot stand full panel maternity pants/leggings. The panel drives me insane!
Sleep: I never sleep past 3 anymore. I might fall back asleep by 5 or 6. It really sucks.
Best Moment of the Week: Knowing that my child will not have to sleep on a dog bed.
Food Cravings: Pickled okra and banana peppers.
Food Aversions: Eggs.
Belly button/stretch marks: I haven’t noticed any stretch marks – I’m sure Bert would inform me if he noticed any.
Symptoms: Pregnancy. I feel like I can’t breath well. I don’t know. Maybe it’s because I get tired so easily. I’m trying not to freak out because I know it will get worse!
John Paul’s pregnancy symptoms:  Since informing me that I do not have a disability, John Paul has been very helpful around the house. I only cried twice this week so he’s been pretty sweet!
Movement: She moves like crazy. But sometimes I forget when I last felt her and I freak the eff out. Maybe I should write this down??!!
Gender: Girl – Turner McCartney
What I miss: Sleep.
Milestones: 10 weeks left people!! The countdown is on. Please don’t tell me I have to go past my due date if she isn’t here before. I will just die. Please note that my mother-in-law has already informed me that she thinks the baby will come 10 days late. We won’t mention this again, right?
Thanks for hanging in there with me friends! I know I’ve sucked at blogging but I’m back now!
